I didn’t know you, but I miss you Jim. You have made a difference in my life. The world is a much better place because of you. I wish someone would have told you before July 3, 1971.
I was never really interested in Jim Morrison or The Doors, until one day I was listening to the radio and they mentioned his short lived life. I became curious and did some digging and became absorbed in Jim’s life. The more I dug into his life the more I felt a bonding with him. A spiritual bonding, almost like I had lost a lover.
I made a scrap book in his memory as a positive viewpoint of Jim, because he had enough negativity in his life. He definitely had an introvert personality, but when he was on stage he became “alive”. When I watch some of the videos it breaks my heart. I want to “save” him. All he wanted was to be loved for who he was. A poet, not what he became a Rock Star.
His goal as a lyricist and singer was to open the minds of those who listened to his words, to encourage them to leave behind the familiar in search of a new. I think he could never find the peace he was looking for, and he tried to fill that void with drugs and alcohol. He was a free
spirit has am I.
I own all 3 of Jim’s poetry books and they make you think and wonder and look outside the box. He had vision!
I didn’t know him, but I sure do miss him.
When Jim finally “broke through” I hope he found the love & peace he was looking for.
